Bike to School Day 2013 A Huge Success!

May 10, 2013 Harrisonburg 2

Despite foggy conditions and a looming threat of thunderstorms Wednesday, over 50 students with many more parents, a few teachers and lots of community volunteers, came to Thomas Harrison Middle School (THMS) to celebrate National Bike to School Day.  We had great support from City Council members Charlie Chenault and Richard Baugh, Delegate Tony Wilt, Harrisonburg City School Board member Dany Flemming and Superintendent Dr. Kizner, Central Shenandoah Valley Safe Kids Coalition, Jeremiah Bishop, Shenandoah Bicycle Company and last but not least: SVBC (by way of Thanh Dang, Thomas Jenkins and Carl Droms)!  Thank you to everyone who came out.

Want to be involved?  Thomas Harrison Middle School did a great job of setting a precedent for other schools.  Let’s get more schools on board next year.  Call/email Becky Johnston, RMH Community Health, at (540) 564-7388, rsjohnst@sentara.com.  Thanks!
