Local High School Mountain Bike Racing is Open to any Student
The Virginia High School Mountain Bike Series (VAHS MTB) is gearing up to start the 2014 racing season. VAHS MTB is an interscholastic high school mountain bike race series that is sanctioned by USA Cycling. This 5-race series is open to any high school or middle school student in Virginia.
Harrisonburg/Rockingham County’s’s Rocktown Racers, the 3-time defending league champions, are looking for boys and girls between the ages 11-18 that want to join our team, no experience necessary. The team meets every Thursday for practice where kids can learn about mountain bike racing in a supportive and fun environment. If you like to mountain bike and are considering racing, this is your chance!
The Rocktown Racers also need experienced adult riders for assistant coaches and ride leaders. It’s a great chance to help kids do what so many of us really enjoy, riding our bikes!
For more information, on how you can join the team, contact Ken Bell (ken@rocktownbicycles.com) or Bob Elliott (heavenlyhamva@yahoo.com). Additional information about VAHS MTB can also be found atwww.vahsmtb.com . The seasons first race is scheduled for April 1 in Richmond. We will have our home race at Hillandale Park on Saturday, May 10 @ 10:00 AM.
