Volunteer at the Shenandoah Mountain 100

Every year the Shenandoah Valley Bicycle Coalition helps out with one of the biggest mountain bike races in the state of Virginia and the best 100 mile mountain bike race in the country. The Shenandoah Mountain 100 occurs every labor day weekend in the mountains southwest of Harrisonburg and is based out of the Stokesville Campground. With roughly a 100 miles of riding, 6 plus big mountain climbs and amazing single track descents the race is full of fun trails and fun times. To help all the riders make it through the event Shenandoah Mountain Touring sets up 6 aid stations complete with food, water, mechanical support, and encouraging volunteers.

The Shenandoah Valley Bicycle Coalition typically helps with aid station # 5 up on top of Shenandoah Mountain only a few miles below Reddish Knob on Forest Road 85. In return Shenandoah Mountain Touring donates a portion of the race proceeds to the SVBC. The Coalition joins several other bicycle clubs from around the state of Virginia in helping out at aid stations during the event. We are looking for as many volunteers who are interested to help out.

Where: Checkpoint 5 of the Shenandoah Mountain 100 at the old Shenandoah Mountain Picnic ground on Forest Road 85

Time Commitment: 12 noon to 6pm. Stay for an hour or the whole time any help is greatly appreciated
