ACTION ALERT: Contact Your State Representatives
As the Virginia General Assembly moves into the next phase of the legislative session, only two important bicycling related bills made it out of committee and will be voted on by every legislator. Our friends up in DC and Northern Virginia, the Washington Area Bicyclist Association (WABA) have put together a simple easy to use action alert for you to contact your Delegate or Senator. See below and Take Action:
Virginia’s state legislators are considering two good bike bills this session that need your support. It only takes a minute to send a letter to your representatives, and it makes a big difference when they hear from you. This is a statewide action open to all residents of Virginia. Northern Virginia is a powerhouse and a leader on bicycle issues, but county and city governments don’t have control over all of the aspects of the NoVa bike network, so some changes have to happen at the state level. Take a moment to pitch in for a safer, more bikable Virginia.
