7/19: Public Meeting to Improve Bicycle/Buggy Access on US 42 South
WHAT: Public Meeting – Small Area Transportation Study – Intersection of VA 42 (John Wayland Highway) and Garbers Church Road
WHEN: Thursday, July 9 from 4-6 p.m.
WHERE: Dayton Municipal Building 125 Eastview Street, Dayton, VA
WHY: Where the bike lane ends!!! What to do with a road (US 42) that has a very comfortable and wide shoulder from Dayton to almost the Harrisonburg City limits.
The Harrisonburg-Rockingham Metropolitan Planning Organization (HRMPO will hold a public meeting for the transportation study of bicycle and buggy access and safety improvements at the VA 42 (John Wayland Highway) and Garbers Church Road intersection. The meeting will be held on July 19, 2018, from 4-6 p.m., at the Dayton Municipal Building, 125 Eastview Street, Dayton, VA. Members of the public are encouraged to attend to learn about the study.
The Harrisonburg-Rockingham Metropolitan Planning Organization (HRMPO) will hold a public meeting for the transportation study of bicycle and buggy access improvements at the VA 42 (John Wayland Highway) and GarbersChurch Road intersection. Members of the public are encouraged to attend to learn about the study and provide input. The study team includes Rockingham County, the Town of Dayton, and the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT), as well as representatives from the Rockingham County Bicycle Advisory Committee and the horse-and-buggy community.
Consultants will use input from the study team and the public to refine options for improving bicycle and buggy access to destinations north of GarbersChurch Road and in the City of Harrisonburg. The Study Team will be available to answer your questions and record your comments on the study. Join us to share your comments on improving bicycle and buggy access in this area!
