Classroom portion of IMBA Trail Building School at the Lucy Simms Center |
Harrisonburg hosted a successful IMBA Trail Care Crew visit this past weekend. Steven and Morgan Lommele came to the Burg and brought with them over two years of accumulated knowledge from traveling around the country and working with a broad spectrum of mountain bike clubs. The first night was a Club Care presentation at Clementine, Friday involved a Trails and Tourism presentation in the City Council Chambers, and Saturday capped it all off with a their classic Trail Building School at Lucy Simms and Massanutten. We know that we learned a bunch from Steve and Morgan but it was exciting to read their recap of the weekend and have them term to SVBC “role models”. We were able to start work on the next Massanutten trail build (to be continued after the Hoo-Ha) and with over 25 volunteers building trail we were able to work through one of the more difficult ravine sections of the build.
